The Role:

We are looking for a Windows Administrator to join our small team of Technical Account Managers. The chosen candidate will be working with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of our customer.s Managed Hosting Services as well as design and implementation of new projects (both internal and customer).

This highly technical role encompasses maintaining virtual and physical machines for customers running IIS, SQL Server and associated software as well as running shared infrastructure for Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange. The chosen candidate will develop ongoing relationships with our customers as a trusted partner with a knack for explaining technical concepts to business people and helping technical people understand the big picture.

Skills Summary:

This role requires skills in the following areas:

  1. Exceptional English written, verbal and presentation skills.
  2. IIS configuration and troubleshooting, including Application Pools, .NET Framework configuration, ASP Classic configuration and security hardening.
  3. SQL Server installation, maintenance and troubleshooting with a practical knowledge of SQL queries.
  4. Active Directory design and implementation, including RODCs.
  5. Windows network stack and services including Windows DNS, NLB and NPS.
  6. Microsoft Exchange 2010 - including server roles, IIS integration and troubleshooting.
  7. Customer Account Management (including billing and provisioning).
  8. VMWare vSphere operational experience.


The successful candidate will ideally also have skills or experience in the following areas:

  1. Basic to intermediate PowerShell scripting.
  2. Working with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory in a multi-tenant environment.
  3. Thorough understanding of AD components including LDAP and Kerberos as well as AD roles.
  4. SQL (any flavour).
  5. Basic command-line Linux skills.
  6. Experience with open-source monitoring software such as Nagios and Cacti.


Role Responsibilities:

Core responsibilities include:

  1. Serving as a direct point of contact to assigned managed hosting customers covering the full account lifecycle (implementation, fault management and reporting, configuration management).
  2. Own our internal Windows infrastructure for Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange (internal and hosted).
  3. Maintain ongoing systems and operational (Wiki) documentation of internal and customer systems to share knowledge and ensure maintenance of our strict SLAs.
  4. Participate in the on-call rotation schedule (fault handling only).


Certifications, education and experience:

The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of Windows support/administration experience working in an enterprise or hosting environment with certifications such as MCITP in one or more disciplines.

A BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree is highly regarded.

Remuneration:

Negotiable based on skills and experience.

Work out of an office based in Ultimo, 5 minutes walk from the UTS main campus and Central Railway Station.
