What is a Webname?
A webname, (also known as a domain name) is an address used to identify and locate computers and web pages on the Internet.A webname is hierarchical and often conveys information about the type of entity using the webname.
The site www.conexim.com.au implies that Conexim is an Australian commercial entity - which it is.
Webnames at the same level of the hierarchy must be unique.
You can think of a webname as your voice and presence on the Internet, a unique electronic address where your web site is hosted and you receive e-mail. Some people like to think of their webname as their cyber identity (.id.au webnames), cyber company (.com.au), cyber soap box (.asn.au/.org.au) or cyber networking solutions centre (.net.au).
