What is the Australian web hosting all about?
There are many Australian companies that offer web hosting services. However, many of them are re-selling overseas-based services, which means that the websites hosted on overseas servers are much slower to browse for the Australian public than the ones hosted locally. All of Conexim's servers are located in Australian data centres, and are self-owned and managed. Read more about the importance of choosing an Australian Host.

How long does it take to set up a new account?
Orders for new accounts are set up within the same day of receival, generally within 1-2 hours. Depending on the domain name required and its current status, this may take up to a further 24-48 hours to become operational, subject to third-party domain name registration or re-delegation delays.

How long are the hosting contracts, and can I cancel my account?
We do not lock people in long-term contracts. You can cancel your account by the next billing cycle - ie. if you pay monthly, you can stop your account by the end of the respective month.

Do you offer email forwarding/aliasing?
Yes, all plans have this feature, with individual aliases or a catch-all option.

Do you support POP3/IMAP mailboxes to store incoming emails for the hosted domain?
Yes, we do on the plans that advertise this feature.

What about web traffic, statistic, hits?
We do offer a couple of different web reports, showing comprehensive statistics about your website traffic.

Can I have access to raw log files
Yes, raw web logs are available for you to download.

Do you offer a control panel, or account on-line administration facilities?
Yes, you have access to a password-protected control panel, from where you can access the features above (email setup, web statistics) plus account status/invoices, complimentary search engine submission page, and administrative news.

How do I upload my web pages onto the site?
As a part of your account confirmation letter, you will be given FTP server access and login details. You can use any FTP client software to upload files to your website using these details. If you do not have such a program, there are a lot of free ones available for download on the net (eg. CuteFTP, WS_FTP, etc...).

Can I define my own, custom error pages?
All accounts support the standard .htaccess configuration file, which enables you to define custom error documents.

Do you support PHP4 scripting?
Yes.

Do you have MySQL database server support?
Yes, on the plans that offer it.

What about PERL, CGI, SSI?
Yes, yes, yes.

Do you support Microsoft FrontPage?
We are a Linux-based hosting company, and therefore have limited support of Microsoft products. However, our Economy plan offers Front Page 2002 server support (must be asked for).

Do you support Java servlets/JSP pages?
Yes, via Jakarta Tomkat, currently available on our Enterprise plan.

Can I have secure SSL server pages
You can have complimentary SSL server support on the Business plans under our own secure server, or request a private SSL certificate to be installed for your own domain.

What about server uptime?
Our track record shows an availability over 99.9%.
