CPU configurations for dedicated serversConexim uses Intel-based CPUs for dedicated servers. The CPU names, models and market availability evolve so quickly these days that it becomes almost impossible to fix on particular configurations for long. We have created 3 broad categories of CPUs that we associate with our different classes of dedicated servers. These are expanded below: Low-end CPUsSingle Intel Pentium 4, Intel Pentium D and Core 2 Duo. These are suitable for basic web applications, mail servers and development environments. Mid-range CPUs Single Intel Xeon Dual/Quad Core CPUs. These are suitable for web and application servers or small database servers. High-end CPUs Dual (two) Intel Xeon Dual/Quad Core CPUs. These are suitable for the most demanding application and database environments. |
